The Social and Cultural Exchange program with World Reach Nepal offers volunteers the opportunity to immerse themselves in the rich traditions and customs of Nepal while fostering mutual understanding between cultures. Photography/Videography

Requirements for Social & Cultural Exchange
Age: Minimum 18 years old, no upper age limit.

Language Skills: Basic English required (Nepali not necessary).
Open-Mindedness: Willingness to embrace new cultures and adapt to local lifestyles.
Commitment: Minimum of 2-4 weeks commitment.
Travel Insurance: Must have travel insurance covering health and accidents.
Visa: Must have the appropriate visa for volunteering in Nepal.
Experience: Prior experience in teaching, arts, or media is beneficial but not required.

Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM), a member of the World Reach Nepal (WRN) team will greet you outside the main exit hall with a sign displaying the WRN logo. We will arrange comfortable transportation to your accommodation in Kathmandu, included in your program fee. Please note that while we strive to be punctual, we cannot be held responsible for traffic delays.
Accommodation:
Volunteers will stay with a host family or in a volunteer house near the project site. While the accommodation is basic, it is comfortable and includes Western-style toilets and hot showers. Please be prepared for simplicity and understand that luxury accommodations are not provided.
Food & Beverages:
Your program includes two meals per day at your accommodation, typically consisting of delicious Nepali dishes like Daal-Bhat (lentil soup and rice), vegetable curry, and tea or coffee. Alcoholic beverages are not allowed on the premises. If you wish to eat out or purchase additional food, those expenses will be your responsibility.
Orientation:
Orientation begins on your chosen start date and lasts two days. It covers essential information about Nepalese culture, language training, safety, and project details. You’ll have the opportunity to visit local temples, sample authentic Nepali food, and connect with fellow volunteers for weekend plans.
If you plan to travel in Nepal before your program, we can arrange a pick-up from a designated location in Kathmandu. Your accommodation is covered for the night prior to your orientation.
